Marshall's Bar
About This Spot
Stepping into Marshall’s Bar feels like slipping into a cherished neighborhood nook where time slows just enough to catch your breath. This is no polished showroom but a place with character etched into its weathered walls and well-worn bar top — a genuine spot where stories linger and the music hums low and steady, inviting you to settle in.
The atmosphere is comfortably unpretentious, almost like visiting an old friend’s living room that happens to pour an honest pint and keeps a fire pit glowing just outside. It’s the kind of bar where the rhythm isn’t driven by fancy décor or hype, but by the conversations weaving through a crowd that’s as much family as it is community. The bartenders, each with their own unmistakable style and spirit, lend warmth and authenticity, making everyone feel like they belong even if it’s your first visit.
Drinks here lean into classics you can savor without fuss — think Murphy’s Stout poured just right or a cold Heineken on a laid-back evening. The menu isn’t about shiny trends or complex cocktails, but about keeping that simple, reliable comfort that so many folks find themselves coming back to.
Marshall’s is not the place to seek out candlelit ambiance or frou-frou frills. Instead, it offers a genuine refuge for loosening ties, swapping stories, and sharing a laugh under the layered hum of good music and familiar faces. It’s a neighborhood bar where the owner’s candid approach sets the tone — bringing a realness that’s refreshing and rare. If you want a spot where the atmosphere feels lived-in and the connections feel earned, this is one of those places that quietly earns a spot in your regular rotation.

This prohibition bar is a bit worn and older in the tooth, but it's amazing. The bartenders Coach, Kimberly, Kristina, Red and the others each have different personalities that make this place welcoming to everyone. Keep up the great job.

I'm a regular, wonderful place to visit. But you have this one bartender that's just disrespectful to the regulars. And don't let him have to many drinks, Oh Boy!!! Yes he's very disrespectful, woman or man! But everyone else is wonderful, from the staff, owners and patrons. We are a family with one F@#k up. You'll know who he is off rip!

It's a perfect neighborhood bar...dark, good music, outdoor seating and fire pit. Owner is great...if you're a d**k, he'll give it right back. If you're cool, he's got stories to share. As above, it's a perfect neighborhood bar. If you want ferns and ambiance for date night, don't come here. If you just want to loosen the tie and have some fun, Walken inside (you'll get it). Wish I'd known about Marshall's when I was still playing Rugby...this would have been the place after matches.

We didn't have any food, just a drink. The bartender was very nice and attentive, drinks were very moderately priced and what I can only believe were regulars were very nice and gave us tips on our adventure in Detroit!

Fun times going there with friends . I wish it would stay open until 2a during the week. I get it, but for Jeff Chalmers crew, it would be nice to have our neighborhood bar stay open without having to go to Grosse Pointe bars
